    1. 1. As we all have noticing some of the promises that our new president Donald Trump mentioned in his campaign has become a reality. Some of those promises instead of making American better seems is making American going back in time. One of the presidents changes that will have a big impact nationwide is the repealing of the Affordable Care Act (ACA); the impact is going to be devastating, many families will pay the consequences for being excluded from their healthcare benefits.
It is important to know that healthcare is a human right and not only for those who can afford it. On the other hand we also have many people who are struggling with addictions, which also need help. For example we can mention a men at Recovery Point in Huntington, W.Va. A drug and alcohol recovery center is making a call to our president to not forget about those individuals and families that are going thru addiction crisis and for those that in this moment need a helping hand like him. Residents are waiting for the president’s support hoping he will build more facilities like Recovery point, cutting off heroin supplies entering the nation, expanding services for inpatients and outpatients care, providing coverage for their addiction and mental health treatments, for example coverage for the medication Naloxone (nasal spray that reverse the effects of overdose), make the recovery program mandatory, and provide more specialize counselors to helps hundreds of people who are struggling with these type of addictions. Unfortunately everyone is worry about lacking health care if repealing ACA becomes a reality. This social issue needs to be solve for the benefit of all society, is a need to provide a helping hand and a new opportunity to these individuals to become functional active members of society again.

2.From the conflict perspective, healthcare is becoming a social problem, due to social inequality; Unfortunately, health care benefits is becoming a service limited just for those that can afford it, lamentably without considering that healthcare is a human right.
Repealing the Affordable Care Act is going to be devastating for low-income families and for those with social disadvantages. For these social groups the rate to become ill is higher that other social classes; All this is a consequence of lacking an adequate healthcare service; besides, it will increase the number of uninsured people due to the higher insurance rates; but the effect is not going to be just for those uninsured, this actions is also going to have effects in the services provide in emergency care, specialists and regular services that will also going to affect the insured patients.
On the other hand, from a Functionalist perspective health care is important to have a smooth, and stable flow of society. If not everyone can afford healthcare benefits, this issue will create instability; for example: job performances can be affected, will increase economic stress especially for students and for those with disadvantage social backgrounds.
      3. My preference for this topic is because as a student I struggle with healthcare coverage, paying for insurance adds an extra economic stress to my packet and to the packets of everyone; at the same time is a topic important for me as a nursing student. This social problem is relevant in the field of Sociologist, because suffering social inequality and providing health care for only those that can afford it is an violation of human rights, not leaving behind that this type of social problem will affect the ability of society to function adequately.

The article “In West Virginia, Men In Recovery Look To Trump For A 'Helping Hand'” talks about residents in a drug addiction treatment center called Recovery Point and their concern for all the talk about revoking the Affordable Care Act. For people like Terry Lilly, who have maintained their addiction at the cost of everything they own, knowing that they would not be able to afford their own health insurance is frightening. However, this is an issue that wouldn’t just affect the residents at Recovery Point. In West Virginia alone Medicaid provides health coverage for more than half a million citizens; that is over a quarter of the state’s population. These are numbers that would have a huge impact on society in general. A conflict theorist might argue that keeping Medicaid is important not only to the people like Terry but to the half a million people who manage to receive care through such programs. In conflict theory, an important, if not primary, factor to getting rid of inequality is strengthening the middle class. What better way to increase the middle class than by helping the poor? But how can the poor thrive if they are obligated to use the little money they have on expensive survival necessities such as health care? Programs like Medicaid allow people like Terry to get back on their feet without worrying about paying their health insurance, so that when they do reintegrate to society, they may add on to the working middle class and help decrease the gap between the rich and the poor. I for one, have seen the benefits of Medicaid growing up. Coming from a family that could never afford their own health insurance, it was a relief to know that the government was always lending that ‘Helping Hand’ that Terry and his residents hope to find now. This topic is relevant in the field of sociology because health care is an important aspect of today’s society. Up until recently, everyone was obligated to have health insurance, but many can’t afford it. Programs like Medicaid aid those who people and keep some sort of balance so there isn’t a huge group of people without coverage.

In response to Maria. I agree with this topic. the only thing that I'm not agree that why people who has drug addiction can have Medical coverage from government for free on base our taxes, but normal people they can be involved on that program because they making 19,000 a year but limit is 16,000. That's the point who's not working and has drug addiction can have medical for free and the person who's working and plus student cant have medical coverage because his income is little bit more from the limit.
I'm really upset about this rule and topics like that because its not fair that's how i'm thinking. i really feel sorry for people who has drug addiction but its their choice. Why mother who's delivering babe has to pay $30.000
for one night at hospital, and the person who's overdosed sleeping in hospital room under IV for free. That's why in my opinion the people who really work hard but cant afford medical insurance cause he has bills and etc that person need to have medical coverage form government.
